Castiglione Olona - Fausto Bianchi presents “Transiti”: a collective work at the Map in Castiglione Olona - Free time - Varese News

Next Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the [MAP] Museo Arte Plastica in Castiglione Olona will host Fausto Bianchi for the presentation of “Transiti” , a collective work of art born from the collaboration between the artist from Varese and the students of the IC Branda Castiglioni.
The exhibition is the result of the LAB/MAP – AS 2024/2025 project, a laboratory path that for over ten years has involved the company Mazzucchelli 1849, the Municipal Administration and the Scholastic Institute of Castiglione Olona. Coordinated by Prof. Cristina Freddi, the project offers young people a unique opportunity to come into contact with the historical and cultural heritage of the territory, through the direct experience of contemporary art.
“Transiti” is a work composed of seven panels, inspired by a 12th-century Persian poem that tells the symbolic journey of a group of birds in search of a legendary mountain, in search of answers about the disorder of the world. Each panel represents one of the seven valleys crossed along the way, each characterized by trials and fundamental choices for the protagonists.
At the center of the visual narrative are the labyrinths, symbols of the internal and external challenges that accompany each phase of the journey. Their complexity progressively decreases, reflecting the process of growth and awareness that guides the protagonists towards maturity and clarity. In this way, “Transiti” is configured as a poetic and profound reflection on the path of personal and collective growth, inviting us to explore what shapes us, orients us and transforms us on our path towards self-knowledge.
For the second consecutive year, Fausto Bianchi also held the role of coordinator of the exhibition, accompanying students and teachers in a shared planning process that enhances both individual expressiveness and intergenerational dialogue. Fausto Bianchi, born in Cermenate in 1958, is an artist, illustrator and “poet through images”. A graduate of the “A. Frattini” Art School in Varese, he has developed a personal language that ranges from painting to watercolor, from engraving to digital art. His career has seen him collaborate with important Italian and international publishing houses. In 2017 he received the prestigious Toppi Award. His works, exhibited in cities such as Varese, Milan, Lucca, Bologna and Berlin, explore interior universes suspended between sign and silence, word and vision, with an approach that aims to overcome the ego and return open images, where the viewer's gaze completes the meaning.
The exhibition “Transiti” will be open to visitors at the [MAP] Museo Arte Plastica in Castiglione Olona, in Via Roma 29, with free admission.
